Vitamin D in Physiological and Pathological Conditions

Kiran Dahiya*; Sanghapriya Pal; Rakesh Dhankhar

Madecassic acid is a pentacyclic triterpenoid bioactive compound that possesses anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic properties altering lipid metabolism, blocking NF-κB activation in macrophages, and can regulate cancer cell line and several immune genes. This is the first study on the effect of madecassic acid on Labeo rohita by dietary feeding against argulosis caused by Argulus siamensis, a crustacean ecto-parasite.

An Overview of Omics Approaches: Concept, Methods and Perspectives

Jeyachandran Sivakamavalli*; Baskaralingam Vaseeharan

Proteomics defines the post-genomic tests of the entire proteins (proteome) expressed by a genome in a cell, tissue or organ at a specified time under definite conditions. Protein expression is modulated at different levels from transcription to the maturation of the polypeptides produced by the translation of mature mRNAs.

Bioactive Molecules from Phyllanthus Niruri and Investigating their effects against Diabetes

Sibiya AM*; Ramya AK; Vaseeharan B*

The use of plant-based medicines, health products, food supplements, and cosmetics is being increased nowadays due to their active and healthy ingredients. Phyllanthus niruri is traditionally used as herbal medicine in Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Siddha, Unani and Yoga worldwide.

Biochemical Profiling of Primary and Secondary Metabolites of Annona reticulata Leaf with their Seasonal Fluctuations

Subrata Mallick; Goutam Chandra*

The qualitative phytochemical analyses of ethanol and aqueous dried dust leaf powder of Annona reticulata (A. reticulata) revealed the presence of different phytochemicals. Quantitative estimations of some primary and secondary biochemicals of dried leaves of A. reticulata in winter, summer and monsoon seasons were done.

Genome Databases, Types and Applications: An overview

Jeyachandran Sivakamavalli*; Kiyun Park; Ihn-Sil Kwak

Genomic and proteomic databases are very important useful platform to store, share and compare the data across research purposes, between individuals and other organisms. Development of molecular biological techniques and computational approaches such as genome sequencing, trancriptomics, proteomics and metabolic studies unravels the history of biomolecules, interactions inside the cell.
